Congratulations to the Tigers

No shirts. No practices. No problem.

The Somerset Hills Tigers 12U team hadn't practiced together. Their uniforms were not ready. When the six Tigers appeared for their first game, they were wearing a variety of red shirts. The problem was that their first opponent was also wearing red, and their uniforms were a complete match. The Tigers had only one option - to play without uniform tops - so it was an old school shirts vs. skins.

And the skins won.

The Tigers fast break was too much for Holy Child of Staten Island to handle. The Tigers took the lead for good Andrew Martin scored off of the opening tip-off. The Tigers, who led by as many as twelve, led by eight at the half, 24-16. They played in slow-down mode in the second half, and held on to a 40-35 victory.

Game Two will be on December 7. By then, the Tigers will practice together and have uniforms!
